【英语财经】澳政府阻止基德曼与中国财团交易 Kidman & Co sale blocked by Australian government

the Australian government has blocked a deal for a Chinese-led consortium to buy a vast swathe of farmland on the continent.

Scott Morrison, the federal treasurer, has said his preliminary view of a A$370m ($230m) bid for S Kidman & Co is that it “may be contrary to the national interest,” .

In mid-April, the Chinese company Hunan Dakang, a pig breeder, through its Australian subsidiary, was in the box seat to lead the purchase of S Kidman & Co, a pastoral company that owns more than 100,000 sq km of Australian farmland, or about 1.3 per cent of the country.

Hunan Dakang’s subsidiary was to bear 80 per cent of the sale price with the remainder kicked in by Australian Rural Capital, an ASX-listed company that invests in agriculture.

4月中旬，中国畜牧企业大康牧业(Dakang)通过旗下澳大利亚子公司牵头向基德曼公司提出收购要约。基德曼公司在澳大利亚拥有10万平方公里牧场，相当于全国面积的1.3%左右。

大康牧业子公司承担80%的收购费用，其余部分由澳大利亚证交所上市的农业投资公司Australian Rural Capital承担。
