【英语国际】澳洲航空A380飞机发生引擎故障 紧急降落新加坡

Qantas Airways Ltd. Thursday said an engine failed on a Sydney-bound Airbus A380 super-jumbo jet carrying 433 passengers and 26 crew, which returned to Singapore for an emergency landing.

The engine on Flight QF32, made by Rolls Royce Group PLC, was shut down after developing technical problem, said a spokesperson for the airline.

'All passengers are off safely,' said the spokesperson, adding that Qantas has no plans to cancel further A380 flights due to this engine failure.

Qantas is a major customer for the 450-passenger-capacity plane, which European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co.'s Airbus unit hopes will transform the commercial-plane industry and give it an advantage over rival Boeing Co., whose 747 first flew more than 40 years ago. The A380 is also operated by Singapore Airlines Ltd., Emirates, Air France-KLM and Deutsche Lufthansa AG.

The giant aircraft has had some previous trouble with engines. Singapore Airlines last September said one of its A380s suffered engine problems. Lufthansa said in August that it had to shut down an engine on one of its flights of the super jumbo.

According to the Qantas website, the jet was equipped with four Rolls-Royce Trent-class engines.

'We will work with Qantas to identify what the problem is,' a spokesman for the U.K.-based engine maker told Dow Jones Newswires.

A spokesman for Toulouse, France-based Airbus said, 'We have technicians in Singapore who will work with Rolls Royce to look at the problem.'

澳洲航空的官方网站显示，发生故障的飞机配备了四个劳斯莱斯生产的Trent级引擎。

位于法国的空客公司发言人说，我们在新加坡有技术人员，他们会和劳斯莱斯一起查找故障原因。
